Running Mate for the NDC in the 2020 elections, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has called for the creation of a fair society where every citizen is treated with respect and dignity.

Addressing the media after visiting inmates of the Leli Dabari camp in the Gushegu Municipality, she emphasised that the phenomenon of witchcraft accusations and maltreatment of old women should be discouraged. She called for more efforts to create awareness about the abuse of old women in Society.

“Let us rethink the kind of country we want and know that in that country, this sort of thing does not occur as Africans we know how to take care of each other. No matter how difficult things are, no matter how little we have, we know how to share. Let us not get to a level where we think that this is acceptable,” she emphasized.

Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang donated items including food to the inmates.

The former Running Mate is in the Northern region undertaking some humanitarian activities to mark her Seventieth Birthday celebration.

As part of these activities, she has also donated assorted items at the Tamale Teaching Hospital and interacted with some widows in Tamale.
