SuperSport viewers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to continental club action from the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup this weekend, with matches scheduled for Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March 2022.

DStv and GOtv is the only true home of football in Africa, offering a range and depth of action that no other rival can match – it’s literally ‘Unbeatable Football’! If you’re going to spend your money on something, it may as well be on the best football in the world.

The action opens in the CAF Champions League on the evening of Friday 18 March, with South Africa’s AmaZulu playing host to Moroccan visitors Raja Casablanca in Durban and looking to avenge a defeat in North Africa from Matchday 1 back in February.

“We were maybe unlucky to lose to them in the first group stage game,” said AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy. “They are a good team, but the boys are hungry for this one.”

Friday also sees Sudan’s Al Merrikh looking to claim a major scalp when they host current CAFCL title holders Al Ahly of Egypt. Saturday sees the Champions League action continue to roll, with another Sudanese side, Al Hilal, hosting Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, while Angolan clubs Petro de Luanda and Sagrada Esperance chase home victories against Egypt’s Zamalek and Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca respectively.

Sunday 20 March brings a trio of games from the CAF Confederation Cup, starting off with Zambia’s Zanaco playing host to CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, before Simba SC travel from Tanzania to the Ivory Coast for a clash with ASEC Mimosas, while the late game in Algeria sees JS Saoura taking on South African travellers Orlando Pirates.

Zanaco striker Moses Phiri wants to see his side pick themselves up after some tough recent results. “All is not lost. We just pray that we win this game so that we can pick ourselves up,” Phiri said.

“We are encouraging ourselves that we can make our fans happy again. This is football, if we stay focused and understand what the coach wants, I think it is going to be a good game for us as we look to do our best in the group.”
