After the successful Accra Cycling championships, at Ablekuma, a criterium of 13 laps -104km for the junior category and 19 laps-152km for the elites and under 23 categories on the 26th of June, 2022, the Ghana Cycling Federation is set to organize the 2022 Tour Du Ghana.

The 5-day Tour Du Ghana (Route of the South) Road race comes off from the 6th -10th July 2022.

The event promises to be an all action on the Road competition for the best cyclists in the country.

The Tour Du Ghana event would take through four regions in Ghana, Greater Accra, Volta, Eastern, and Central regions with a total distance of 640km it’s a trademark event in establishing who controls the pedals and a bragging right for the upcoming stubborn riders to prove their mettle.

The event has come at a time when Ghana is preparing to participate in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK, and will keep the cyclists in top shape.

Technical Director of the Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF) Mr. Shaaban Mohammed said he is optimistic the event would be interesting and urged all cycling lovers to be part.

The GCF has organized a series of strategic planning meetings, and they want partners and sponsors to come on board.

President of the Ghana Cycling Federation Mr. Mohammed Sahnoon has also endorsed the event and believes it is the right step in exploring the power and readiness ahead of major competitions.
