The first-ever officially sanctioned Pillow Fight Championship (PFC) in Ghana was held last Sunday at the Happy Kids School at Odorkor Official Town under the distinguished chairmanship of Mr. Baffuor Acheamfuor Prince Kojo, Managing Director Of Rocksure Energy Ltd.
The event was organized by Dreamland Sports Plus based at Bubuashie, spearheaded by Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams. He called on businesses to consider supporting exciting less financed sports like Pillow Fighting.
There was a kids exhibition involving children under the ages of 5, 12, and 15 before the adults over 18 years representing Odorkor and Official Town.
In seven exciting duels where sportsmanship and acrobatic display are shown, Emmanuel Lartey defeated Jonathan Neequaye 3-1, Solomon Gyan was declared the winner over Nicholas Bortey, Alhassan Fuseni also beat Fred, while Joseph Okai dispatched Ezra Kwao Dodoo 3-1 and Jamel Kojo Boateng beat Casimar Nunekpeku 3-1.
The interesting bouts climaxed with skill, power action, and cheers in the final stages as Romeo Decaro beat Alex Kpakpo 3-1, and Razak Abdul also over powered Emmanuel Dodoo 5-1.
The new combat sport had some fantastic moments as the well dressed referees and judges in a white shirt, black trousers, and red bow ties made their presence felt.
The event was officiated by Messrs Romeo Dicaro, Edmund Quansah, Fred Danso, Belo Cida, Benard Abbeyquaye, and Patrick Johnson former Secretary of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).
