Japhet Festus Gbede, a Communications Team Member of the NDC in the Akatsi South Constituency, has blamed Ghana’s current economic crisis on the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
According to the Deputy communication officer hopeful of the Akatsi South NDC, Mr. Ofori-Atta’s management of the economy is problematic and ludicrous, and must be fired from office immediately.
We have seen an increase in revenue, and I can categorically say that we don’t need more money to turn around the country’s fortunes; we need reasonable, obsequious, and competent hands to run affairs of this country and the only prosperous way to get these results is by voting and enshrining the will of the Ghanaian people on December 7, 2024, Japhet snarled.
In an interview with Avenor TV’s Beauty Agbedzige, the newspaper show host of the newly commissioned TV station in the Volta Region on Tuesday, July 26, the vibrant communicator said the rate of borrowing by the Finance Minister and the printing of money without the approval of Parliament should be a major concern to the nation.
“He cannot be jumping from one word to the other all in the name of naming budgets. He has been managing the economy since 2017, from Agyepa to Obaatan Pa budget yet his policies in terms of fiscal management has actually created a huge economic problem for this country.”
The show, in which Japhet took off his shoes to illustrate the suffering Ghanaians are experiencing as a result of poor economic management, came to a close without the presence of any NPP communicator.
“Formerly, you can get this shoe just ghc100.00 but today, it is ghc250.00 why we must be suffering like this upon all the promises this government made to us”, he weeps.
According to the Young NDC communicator, one of the most difficult jobs in Ghana now is communicating for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He posits that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) keeps on making promises to the populace and has never been able to fulfill them, thus making communication very difficult for their communicators, hence preparing them for hell.
Mr. Japhet has emphasized that communication members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta region are losing credibility for defending President Akufo-Addo’s abysmal performance. According to him, President Akufo-Addo’s government is not committed to changing the fortunes and economic hardship in the country yet wants communicators to defend his undefendable government.
The angry Japhet explained that “NPP communicators should be bold and condemn President Akufo-Addo’s government for the abysmal performance to save their reputation and integrity, else they can’t escape hell.
