Highlife Singer Obibini Takyi Jnr. has revealed future plans to remix and recreate some of his father’s timeless Highlife songs.
Obibini Takyi Jnr. believes that these future plans will go a long way to revive and rekindle the spirit of Highlife music in Ghana and across the whole world.
Through the father and son bond, he is being motivated by that exceptional kindred spirit.
His father, the late Obibini Takyi is well known for songs like AKOSOMBO NKANEA, MA Y3 NKYINI among several other smash hits.
“I am seeking to carry on the torch my father wielded and even do more than what he couldn’t do and leave a footprint for my next line of generations to come.
In the next few years to come, I believe that my name will be counted among Ghanaian Highlife pioneers including both the departed and those alive today,” he said.
He was speaking in an interview with KING FRANKY the Host of M’Adwuma on Wontumi Radio 101.3 in Kumasi as part of the promotion of his new release MAASE.
The new song MAASE comes after the release of BOSO POWDER, APUTOOR, HAPPY YOURSELF, BAD ENERGY, SIKA NO ASHI.
Obibini Takyi Jnr. also used the platform to announce his upcoming EP.
