The entire family of a One-and-Half-Year-Old Hole in Heart (Ventricular Septal Defect) Infant, Allyssia N. A. N. Ankrah have expressed their utmost and endless gratitude to the MTN Ghana Foundation that came to the rescue of the little one and provided funds for her entire medical operation at the Korle Bu Cardiothoracic Center in Accra.
Allyssia was diagnosed of the condition exactly a week after her birth.
Little Allysia successfully went through her operation on 16th November, 2022 and was discharged from the Korle Hospital on 7th December, 2022.
The cost of the entire surgery which was pegged at an amount of GHC46,800 (Forty-Six Thousand Eight Hundred Ghana Cedis), was subsequently paid for by the MTN Ghana Foundation.
MTN Ghana Foundation responded to this urgent medical call after a publication appealing for help appeared on the news portal AMAGHANA ONLINE around 3rd March 2022.
AMAGHANA ONLINE made the appeal as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities.

We the parent and family of Allyssia N. A. N. Ankrah write to express our profound gratitude and thanks for the financial support we received from your outfit for the Ventricular Septal Defect (hole in heart) surgery of our daughter who was diagnosed of the condition a week after her birth.
We also use this medium to inform you that her surgery was done successfully on 16th November 2022 and discharge from the hospital on 7th December, 2022.
It is all due to your kind support financially that made it possible. My family is ecstatic. We are extremely appreciative for your generosity.
Without this, we wouldn’t have been able to afford this much money for her hole-in-heart surgery.
We also thank all the management of the National Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Doctors and Nurses who stood by little Allyssia to ensure the surgery was successful, especially Dr. Mensah who lead the team of Doctors and nurses to conduct the surgery and Dr. Innocent Adzamli who handled little Allyssia from the beginning of her diagnosis and management of her fast breathing.
