On the Occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the 4th Republic on January 7, 2023, President Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to do everything within their means to “safeguard the country’s 30-year-old democratic process’’.

“We cannot overlook the fact that instability has followed disputed elections in many parts of the African continent”, he posited.

President Akufo-Addo made the point in a broadcast ahead of Constitution Day on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

He reiterated that the strength of any democracy was determined by the credibility of its electoral process, and above all, the respect for the will of the people, and therefore it is the responsibility of Ghanaians to protect the Constitution as a tool for the Rule of Law in Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo admitted that he does not doubt the resilience of Ghanaians, despite being confronted by difficulties in these economic circumstances.

“I do not doubt our collective resolve to work our way out of these challenges, and put our nation back onto the path of progress and prosperity”, President Akufo-Addo stated.
