The NLA Good Causes Foundation in partnership with Amaruka1 Medical Consult organized a Free Health Screening event at the Fiapre Lorry Park in the Sunyani West Constituency on Friday, March 17th, 2023.
The event was facilitated by Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, an indigene of Odumasi in the Sunyani West Constituency.
The health screening event was part of the NLA Good Causes Foundation’s efforts to provide access to health care services to those who might not have been able to afford it otherwise.
The screening was carried out by a team of Medical Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses and lab technicians from Amaruka1 Medical Consult.
Attendees were screened for hypertension, diabetes, malaria, anaemia, ear problems, arthritis, nutritional issues, and medical counseling among others. Children who attended were provided free deworming treatments and other related services.
The event was a success, with a significant turnout of community members who expressed their gratitude for the services provided.
Many attendees noted that they had been unable to access medical care due to financial constraints, making the NLA Good Causes Foundation’s event a much-needed and appreciated initiative.
It is worth noting that the NLA Good Causes Foundation’s efforts cut across various initiatives beyond health care services.
The National Lottery Authority gives back to society through its Good Causes Foundation.
The Foundation in the previous year provided mechanized boreholes to some communities in the Sunyani West Municipality.
Addressing the gathering at the Screening grounds, Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah expressed her gratitude to NLA Good Causes for offering this screening and pleaded that she will be knocking on their doors again on behalf of the constituency.
Mr. David Nkansah Anto, a Manager at Good Causes Foundation enumerated some works that the foundation has embarked on across the country. He admonished people to desist from dealing with unregistered lotto operators.
