The official call for nominations and registration for the next season of the much anticipated Entrepreneurship TV Reality Show the Next Titan Africa has officially been opened in Accra, Ghana.

The Executive Producer of The Next Titan, Mide Akinlaja on Tuesday, May 23, announced the opening at a press briefing in Accra.

According to him, the registration for the show is sole-sponsored by Tingo Mobile and will close on June 22nd, 2023. 

The maiden season of the Entrepreneurship Reality TV Show tagged the ‘Changemaker’ has been specially designed to provoke the entrepreneurial spirit of young Africans.

The Accra version happens to be an expanded version of The Next Titan Reality show in Nigeria.

“The show was launched in Nigeria and has existed for the past 9 years and this year is its 10th season; some of the past winners have been successful business moguls while a number of them have won important business awards such as Forbes Under 30 Entrepreneurs in Africa,” he said.

Mr. Mide Akinlaja noted that 20 contestants will be selected from four African countries namely (Ghana, Nigeria, Malawi, and Tanzania. 

The contestants will be housed in Lagos-Nigeria, where they will battle it out for 12 weeks. The winner takes home $100,000 as the grand prize.

Aside from the $100,000 grand prize, the first runner-up, the second runner up and the third runner-up will receive $10,000, $6,000, and $4,000 respectively.

Mide Akinlaja explained that the show was designed to shape and change the mindset of young Africans.

“Aside from the entertainment aspect of the 12 weeks competition show, its importance lies in igniting entrepreneurial spirit and showcasing the possibility of entrepreneurship in transforming lives with just an idea that can be scaled to greatness.”

He added: “The show has shaped the scouting of young talented people who have entrepreneurial astuteness, grooming them through rigorous tasks, boardroom process, mentorship, and with a platform for the budding entrepreneurs to win prizes to start their businesses leading to an opportunity to create jobs for themselves and others is indeed a big contributor to the socio-economic development of these countries which Ghana is one of them, and for Africa in general.”

The Next Titan is about bringing the pains and gains of an entrepreneurial journey into the living rooms of Africans giving viewers of the show undiluted entertainment and also a great opportunity for viewers to learn lessons directly through practical ways, as the contestants face different business tasks and challenges on weekly basis.

The TV channels across Africa including the ones in Ghana would transmit the show for 12 weeks to Ghanaians.

He commended Tingo Mobile for the sponsorship of The Next Titan Africa to inspire young Africans in business.

Mr Tobi Aloba, the country manager of Tingo Mobile in Ghana emphasized that his outfit was excited to be part of this laudable initiative.  

He noted that the show falls in line with what Tingo Mobile has set out to achieve on the continent.
