The current ongoing Boxing Tournament dubbed ‘Road to Paris,  the Ring is the Road, which is the 2nd World Qualifying Tournament is getting to final stages at the Indoor Arena of the Huamark Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ghana has two boxers still in contention for slots to Paris 2024.

With five Black Bombers out, while Theo Allotey and Ornella Sathoud are still in the boat for a slot to Paris 2024 Olympic Games, there seems to be hope.

Coming up in the Flyweight-51Kg (31/05/2024) R16, THEOPHILUS KPAKPO ALLOTEY clashes with Chuang Lin (China).

In the Women’s Middleweight -75Kg (Rd 16) ORNELLA SATHOUD will face Aynur Rzayeva (Azerbaijan) on June 1, 2024.

The Ghanaian boxers out of the Paris Dream are Amadu Mohammed(Featherweigt – 57Kg), Joseph Commey(Featherweight -63.5Kg), Henry Malm(Light Middleweight -71Kg), Jonathan Tetteh(Heavyweight -92Kg) and Mark Kojovi Ahondjo(Super Heavyweight -92+kg).

Mr. Dauda Fuseni, Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) has described the tournament as a big experience with the 579 world’s best amateur boxers and 610 coaches from 133 countries.

He stressed the need for the government to invest in amateur boxing.
