Mr. Gordon Frimpong, CEO of Osibor Management and Promotions has come out to tackle outbursts made by Mohammed Amin Lamptey on the quality of opponents fighting on Osibor bills.

According to him, it is not easy to organise and stage promotions when some boxers chose who to fight or are afraid to fight.

He said no boxer is cheap so far as he has not retired, noting that Emmanuel Quartey and Isaac Nettey are good boxers and made names for themselves.

Mr. Frimpong expressed that boxing is both sport and entertainment, so he looks at many things and also taking the game to other regions is a financial burden.

He expressed that the GBA Communications Director should rather praise him for his efforts.

“We want to get more world champions for the nation and it is a gradual process. We are not comparing ourselves to other Promotions but we are doing our best and we are doing it right” he said.

Osibor as he is popularly known congratulated Stanley Nyantekyi aka the Ashanti Warrior and John Zile aka the Monster for their achievements.

He noted that Ghana should be proud of the new young champions and encourage them to move on to become world champions.

Osibor Promotions is one of the new boxing organisers who have taken the game to the Ashanti Region and won many admirers and fans.

He noted that the views of Mohammed Amin Lamptey are discouraging,  but he is self motivated to achieve good results.

He also won the Golden Age Business And Creative Art Award  for Sports Personality of the year 23 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and has added the UBO title to his national and LBO belts.

John Zile who hails from the Bono Region is always ever willing to fight the best as he believes in beating the best to become the overall best or champion.
