The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Jayee University College has taken a proactive step in empowering the youth and preparing them for a successful future.

The SRC organized a seminar as part of their SRC week celebration on Friday 26th July at the school’s premises, focusing on the theme “Empowering the Youth for a Brighter Future: Navigating Challenges and Building Resilience.”

The event, held in partnership with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), Ghana HIV/AIDS Network (GHANET), attracted a large audience of students, invited guests, guest speakers, and alumni.

The guest speakers shared their valuable insights and experiences to inspire and equip the students with the necessary skills and mindset for a successful future.

Freelance sports journalist and ex-Kotoko Express editor, Mr. Jerome Otchere, emphasized the importance of self-belief and the need to work hard to achieve extraordinary accomplishments.

The Head of HR for MASLOC Ghana, Mr. Patrick Ayittah, and representatives from the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) also provided their perspectives on youth empowerment and the significance of entrepreneurship.

Addressing the issue of corruption, representatives from the Office of the Special Prosecutor educated the students on the consequences of engaging in corrupt practices and urged them to become anti-corruption campaigners.

The Ghana HIV/AIDS Network (GHANET) also seized the opportunity to provide crucial information on the transmission and prevention of HIV/AIDS, and distributed free HIV testing kits to the students.

SRC President, Mr. Evans Amewugah believes that the importance of the seminar is to teach students way of life after school, he explained it is important to eradicate corruption from our daily lives as students even before we get the opportunity to serve at the top level.

He again added the health bit of the seminar will help student stay away from unguarded behavior that might ruin their future.

The event, sponsored by Palm Hills Natural Mineral Water and other partners, is a testament to Jayee University College’s commitment to empowering the youth and equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge for a brighter future.

The seminar has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to navigate challenges, build resilience, and contribute positively to the development of their communities and the nation as a whole.
