At a recent meeting with bloggers, online writers, and influencers, Joseph Cudjoe, Minister for Public Enterprises and a prominent figure in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign, promised significant advancements in the digital content industry should Bawumia win the upcoming elections.
The event, hosted by the Ghana Bloggers Association at Oak Plaza Hotel in Accra, gathered key players in the digital space to discuss the potential future of the industry under Bawumia’s administration.
Led by Andre Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah (Attractive Mustapha), the association facilitated discussions on how Bawumia’s digitalization agenda could shape content creation in Ghana.
Cudjoe, addressing the audience, emphasized that Bawumia’s leadership would prioritize the growth of the digital economy, particularly for content creators.
“The youth driving the digital economy are key to Bawumia’s vision for Ghana. That’s why we’re here today, to engage with you directly and discuss how we can work together to build a thriving industry,” Cudjoe remarked.
He revealed plans for the creation of a dedicated digital officer role within the presidency, aimed at developing policies to foster the growth of the content creation sector. “This engagement is part of a broader economic strategy to empower content creators and influencers,” he noted.
Cudjoe also underscored the potential for job creation and wealth generation through content monetization, stating, “As the demand for digital content grows, so too will the need for quality employment opportunities. Our goal is to establish a framework for standardization and regulation, ensuring that Ghanaian creators can compete on a global scale.”
The Vice President’s campaign has consistently highlighted digital transformation as a cornerstone of its economic agenda, with a specific focus on leveraging the talents of young creatives to propel national growth.
