The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the commencement of the online re-exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) on Tuesday, 15th October 2024.

The exercise will continue until Saturday, 19th October 2024, providing registered voters and stakeholders the opportunity to verify their details and report any discrepancies.

This announcement follows the EC’s commitment during a Special Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on 1st October.

The commission had assured the public that a revised PVR would be re-exhibited online, allowing voters to confirm their registration details and correct any errors before the final voters register is produced.

How to Check Voter Details

Starting 15th October, voters will have two options to verify their details:

• USSD Code: Voters can use the short code 71151# free of charge to instantly access their registration information.

• EC Website: Alternatively, voters can visit the EC’s official website at https://ec.gov.gh and click on a pop-up link at the bottom-right corner of the screen. By entering their 10-digit Voter ID number, they will receive their registration details online.

Correction of Discrepancies

Any discrepancies discovered during this re-exhibition period must be reported to the Electoral Commission’s District Office in the voter’s registered district.

It is essential for voters to ensure the accuracy of their details during this time, as once the exercise ends on 19th October, corrections will no longer be allowed, although voters can continue to check their details online.

Guidelines for Political Parties

Political parties are required to follow the template provided by the EC to report any discrepancies they identify during the re-exhibition process. The involvement of political parties in scrutinizing the voters register is considered a critical part of the process to ensure transparency and accuracy.
