The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council has publicly called out Kwasi Ringold, a former Krontihene of Asuom, for his deceptive and partial behavior.

Ringold, who was removed from his position on August 19, 2024, has been falsely presenting himself as the chief of Asuom, despite lacking any legitimate authority.

A communication from the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council reveals that Ringold enlisted thugs to carry out an unauthorized ceremony, claiming to depose the rightful Chief of Asuom, Osabarima Ofosuhene Apenteng.

The council considers Ringold’s actions a disrespect to the honor of Okyeman and a violation of customary laws.

Moreover, Ringold has been involved in a scheme to inaugurate a new chief, Kwadwo Obeng, in an event deemed unlawful by the traditional council.

The council strongly condemns these actions and demands accountability for those involved.

Regarding a separate incident, Ringold was captured on video denigrating Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate.

The Asuom Traditional Council disavows Ringold’s conduct, affirming that he lacks the authority to represent the Asuom stool at the NDC event in Kade during which he made disparaging comments while welcoming the party’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

Ringold’s track record of deceit and bias is well-documented.

He previously affiliated with the CPP before transitioning to the NDC and even contested as an NDC parliamentary candidate in Kade in 2016 but was unsuccessful.

The Asuom Traditional Council characterizes his actions as “vexatious and defamatory.”

However, the council has issued apologies to Vice-President Bawumia and the NPP community for any inconvenience caused by Raingold’s behavior.

They extend a welcome to all political parties and representatives to their jurisdiction, emphasizing that they have never engaged in such disrespectful conduct towards any presidential candidate before.
