On Data Tarrifs, Sam George’s Hypocrisy And NDC’s Deceit
It’s truly nauseating to witness Sam George—now the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations—twist himself into rhetorical pretzels in a desperate attempt to justify the same problems he once lambasted back then in opposition.
The man, who used to scream at Ursula Owusu and the NPP over high data tariffs, is now suddenly an expert in bureaucratic deflections and constitutional procedure.
Where is the fire and outrage he had when he blamed Ursula Owusu personally for what he then called high data costs?
Back then, Sam George acted like the Communications Minister had the power of a monarch—able to wave a hand and reduce tariffs overnight.
But now that the shoe is on the other foot, he wants Ghanaians to believe the problem lies solely in the lap of the Finance Minister and Parliament? How convenient.
Let’s call this what it is: blatant, cynical political dishonesty. Sam George is not being “realistic”—he’s being a hypocrite of the highest order.
His dramatic shift in tone, now that he’s sitting comfortably in power, is proof that the NDC’s playbook is built not on principle, but on expedient deception.
They will say anything to win power—and then do the exact opposite when they have it.
Worse still, his so-called promise that “data tariffs will be reduced by the end of 2025” is nothing but a feeble, vague attempt to pacify growing frustration. Ghanaians deserve specifics, not smoke and mirrors.
How will it be done? What’s the plan? If he’s waiting on the Finance Ministry, what has he done to push that agenda in Cabinet?
Or is this just another empty promise shoved down our throats like the many the NDC has made before?
Let’s be brutally honest—Sam George’s credibility is in tatters.
The same man who weaponized public frustration for political gain now wants to hide behind bureaucratic red tape.
This isn’t leadership. It’s cowardice cloaked in spin.
The NDC must be held accountable for this unending cycle of hypocrisy.
They campaign on rage and indignation, only to govern with excuses and inertia.
Ghanaians are not fools. We remember the noise.
We remember the attacks on Ursula Owusu. We remember the promises. And now, we see the betrayal.
Sam George and the NDC cannot have it both ways. If they had solutions then, they must deliver now—or admit they have been lying all along, all these times.
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana!!!
Long Live Ghana, long live the Elephant Party!!!!
Kukruduuuu Eeeessshiii!!!
