MTN Ghana ushered in the spirit of Christmas this year with a deeply moving Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols that transcended the usual end-of-year corporate celebration, transforming the evening into a profound encounter with faith, culture and community.
Set against a backdrop of glowing lights and resounding harmonies, the ceremony—aptly themed “The Heart of Christmas”—invited guests to pause, reflect and reconnect with the true essence of the season.
It was an evening where scripture met song, movement met meaning, and celebration met solemn reflection.
The journey began with a return to the origins of hope, as passages from the Book of Genesis set the spiritual tone of the night.
Through carefully selected readings, the audience was guided along the biblical narrative of promise, sacrifice and redemption, laying a firm foundation for the unfolding story of Christmas.

As the programme progressed, the MTN Viva Voices enriched the atmosphere with choral excellence, their harmonies serving as a bridge between scripture and song.
One of the most poignant moments came when a visually impaired student from the University of Ghana delivered a prophetic message from Isaiah, drawing heartfelt applause and reinforcing the themes of peace, justice and hope.
The scriptures were further brought to life through creative expression when Dance With a Purpose mounted the stage.
Their interpretative performance translated the nativity story into powerful movement, offering a visual sermon that resonated across generations.
Readings from the Gospel accounts of the angel’s announcement to Mary, the birth of Christ, and the visit of the wise men were delivered by distinguished personalities from traditional, corporate and public service backgrounds—each adding gravitas and diversity to the evening’s storytelling.
Musical ministration took centre stage as gospel star Joe Mettle led the audience into moments of worship, while later performances by Kwame Eugene and Kofi Kinaata infused the night with contemporary energy and joyful celebration.
A central reflection on love—the cornerstone of Christmas—was delivered during the exhortation, reminding attendees that the season is defined not by excess but by selfless giving, humility and sincere worship.
The message urged all present to carry the spirit of Christmas beyond the season and into everyday life.
In his address, MTN Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Blewett, used the occasion to express gratitude to customers, staff and partners, acknowledging their role in the company’s journey throughout the year.
He reaffirmed MTN’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and shared value, highlighting the introduction of Ghana’s first biodegradable SIM card as a practical step toward environmental responsibility.
Mr. Blewett also reflected personally on Christmas as a time for renewal, kindness and meaningful connection, encouraging everyone to slow down and savour the moments that truly matter.
As the final carols echoed through the hall, one message was unmistakable: MTN’s Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was not merely an event on the calendar, but a thoughtful reminder of what Christmas represents—a celebration of faith, love and togetherness at the heart of community.
