WBO Global Super Flyweight Champion,Theophilus Nii Kpakpo Allotey aka Theo Lopez took home five prizes at the impressive and well attended 4th Boxing Ghana Awards ceremony held on Saturday at the Idrowhyt Events Center in Dansoman, Accra.
The Boxing Personality of the Year 2025 went to Sharaf Mahama with 79.5% against Theophilus Allotey, Mathias Ashitey, Abubakar Kamoko, Dr. Ofori Asare and Dave Bishop,
Theo Allotey won the Outstanding Bout of the year with Daniel Gorsh (92.1%), Best Dressed Boxer (83%), Most Promising Boxer (82.3%), Most Well Behaved or Disciplined Boxer (94.5%), Professional Boxer of the year, winning with 91.3% of the total votes casted. Faisal Abubakar got 6.6%, while Sampson Segbedzi placed third.
Sammy Heywood Okine aka ‘General One’ took the 2025 Best Media Personality Award with 78.9% against last year’s winner, Mohammed Agyemang of Ibox360 fame who got 21.1%.
Sammy Heywood Okine also won the Best Boxing Writer of the year for the third time with 84.5% against Sam Opoku Amoah (Sam Gold) who got 9.1% and Prince Dornu Leiku with 6.5%.
Max TV won the Best Boxing TV Station with 88.8% against Omashi 7.1% while GTV placed third.
Ismael Williams amassed 76.3% to win the Best Professional Referee against Roger Barnor 10.9% and Erasmus Owoo with 5%.
Amateur Referee / Judge of the year was taken by Martin Acheampong (86%) against Edward Asante (14%).
With total votes of 72%, Jamestown Boxing Club took the Best Boxing Gym Award. While Augustus Dodoo aka ‘One Life’ was adjudged the Best Match Maker with 76.8% over Mubarak Nanor (11.1%), Ms. Sarah Lotus Asare (9.1%), and Enoch Amponsah aka Don
Mustapha Nettey got 84% of the votes to win the Best Ring Announcer / MC against Nat Attoh (7.3%) and Samuel Opoku Amoah (11.3%).
Joseph Martey won the Best Coach of the year with 78.5% against Dr. Ofori Asare 14.7% and Vincent Akai Nettey 6.9%.
Bright Okoe of Wisdom Gym got 82.6% and shocked Mathias Ashitey 17.4% to win the Best Youth Amateur Boxer of the year.
Outstanding Promotion of the year went to Legacy Rise Sports (88.5%) against Bishop Promotions (11.5%).
Knock Out of the year 2025 was picked by Shakul Samed in his bout at the WBC Grand Prix against Jude Grant.
The Best Regional Boxing Association went to the Volta Region (83.5%), against Ashanti (9.3%) and Northern 7.1%.
The Lifetime Achievement Awards went to Ataa Eddie Pappoe, Amerley Turkson, Kwatelai Quartey, Edward Addo and the late Freeman Kwame (Promoterhene).
Others who have also contributed to Ghana Boxing like Dr. Ofori Asare and Northern regional coaches got Special Awards.
