The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a woman identified as Kesse Okyerewaa Koranteng in connection with a suspected arson attack at Grace Mountain Ministry, widely known as Alpha Hour Church, in Accra.

Police sources confirmed that the suspect was picked up following investigations into an incident in which parts of the church premises were reportedly targeted in what authorities describe as an attempted arson.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at the Grace Mountain Ministry premises, a well-known prayer center that hosts the popular “Alpha Hour” sessions attended by hundreds of worshippers both physically and online.

Investigators say emergency responders were alerted after reports of a fire outbreak under suspicious circumstances within the church compound. The situation was brought under control before it could escalate into a major blaze.

The Accra Regional Police Command, in a brief statement, confirmed the arrest of Kesse Okyerewaa Koranteng and indicated that she is currently assisting with investigations.

Police have not yet disclosed the full details surrounding the motive behind the alleged act. However, they say intelligence gathered after the incident led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect.

Sources close to the investigation suggest that officers reviewed evidence from the scene and other relevant materials before effecting the arrest.

No casualties have been reported in connection with the incident. Church property, however, is believed to have suffered some level of damage, the extent of which has not yet been officially quantified.

Grace Mountain Ministry, popularly referred to as Alpha Hour, has grown in prominence in recent years, drawing large numbers of congregants to its prayer meetings and services.
