The Democracy Cup, an initiative aimed at promoting democratic values through sport, continues to grow as a platform that blends football, governance, and national identity.

Organisers say the competition seeks to harness the unifying power of football to promote civic responsibility, peaceful coexistence, and national cohesion.

The launch is expected to attract key stakeholders, including government officials, Members of Parliament, representatives from the sporting fraternity, corporate partners, and members of the diplomatic corps.

The statement further noted that the tournament is expanding its international footprint through strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing Ghana’s global sporting profile.

Accra Hearts of Oak are expected to play Sunderland of England for winning the last edition.

Additional details, including participating clubs, fixtures, and prize packages would be announced at the launch.
