The Alliance For Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA) has noted with grave concern the pandemonium that erupted in the chamber of Parliament at midnight of Thursday, January 7, 2020, during an exercise to elect Speaker for the august House.

As a law-abiding group that draws inspiration from political leaders, we are horrified and disappointed in our Ghanaian legislators who turned a very simple, calm, and lawful exercise into a horrendous scene.

AFFA condemns in no uncertain terms the vituperative words and physical fisticuffs exchanged between Members of Parliament for NDC and NPP. We, therefore, call on them to apologize unreservedly to the Ghanaian people on whose accord you act and purge yourselves from this embarrassment.

It is the position of AFFA that the authority and dignity of Parliament must be affirmed and reaffirmed on every possible occasion. It is in the interest of both NDC and NPP MPs to work in harmony to move Ghana forward.

Long live AFFA!

Long live Ghana!!

Signed

Sir-Obama Pokuase

Executive Secretary, AFFA.
