The Supreme Court of Ghana has by a unanimous decision dismissed the application of the petitioner to re-open his case.

The lead Lawyer for the petitioner yesterday prayed the court to allow him re-open his case so he can subpoena the chairperson of the first respondent for cross-examination.

He had argued that this is necessary as the Lawyers for the first respondent took them by surprise when they said they don’t want the chairperson to mount the witness box to be cross-examined.

The application was opposed by the Lawyers for the first and second respondents.

On Tuesday Morning when the court sat to hear the case, the six judges of the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed the application.

“We accordingly refuse the application and proceed to dismiss it…,” Chief Justice, Justice Anin-Yeboah concluded after a long ruling.
