As the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gears up to announce the names of the various Metropolitan Municipal District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) following the shortlisting of applicants, it appears there still remains some shortlisted persons with very dubious and questionable records.
Such persons, if allowed to occupy public offices have the tendency to rundown the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Akufo-Addo government, which hardworking footsoldiers have worked to consolidate.
This is according to some concerned NPP Group in the Nkoranza South Municipality in the Bono East region who are kicking against the confirmation of Osei Kwadwo Patrick as the MCE.
The group have raised issues about his dubious character and have cited some of his bad records of financial embezzlement both in corporate service and political circles.
To the group, Osei Kwadwo Patrick is not a unifier and there is no way he can bring unity or mobilize the NPP in Nkoranza South.
The Group says Osei Kwadwo Patrick as the current Constituency first vice-chairman is not a unifier.
“Shorlisted Osei Kwadwo Patrick belongs to one of the already existing camps which is affecting the fortunes of the NPP in Nkoranza,” the NPP group laid bare the facts.
The group is shocked as to how come such a character would be invited for a vetting process in the first place.
They further recalled that during the 2020 Elections, Hon. Charles Konadu Yiadom MP for the area gave Osei Kwadwo Patrick an amount of GHC20,000 (Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis) to support the payment of transportation for those who came from different places to vote on the election day.
“Osei Kwadwo Patrick brought only GHC10,000 (Ten Thousand) and pocketed the rest of the money. It was after the elections that the Executives realized it was rather 20,000 that was given to him by the Former MP,” the enraged NPP group stated.
The concerned NPP group have further warned to protest and challenge the confirmation of Osei Kwadwo Patrick should the President drop his name among the nominees.
“This man cannot be trusted with money and resources; there is an alleged case of financial embezzlement from his former workplace, Kwabre Rural Bank in the Nkoranza South Municipality in Bono East.
He was forced to resign by the Board forfeiting all his end of service benefits with the bank.
…He was demoted from the Operations Manager to Branch Manager because of misconduct and dishonesty,” at his current place of work, Kuwuman Rural Bank the group claimed in an exclusive interview.
The group, therefore, pleaded with the NPP leadership and the president to hear their plea to ensure unity and development in the Nkoranza South municipality.
