Shehu Dalhu Abdul-Mumin Salifu, the Spiritual Leader of Ahlulbayt Mission in Northern Ghana and Zongo Chief of Tamale, has applauded RoyalAid Foundation for promoting He for She Empowerment.

Shehu Dalhu Abdul-Mumin Salifu made the statement at the He Empowering Lot More Shes (HELMS) Initiative in Accra on Friday 6th August 2021.

The HELMS project, an initiative of the RoyalAid Foundation, seeks to holistically empower the boy-child and groom males to understand the needs of the girl-child and empower more women.

 In an address, the founder of RoyalAid Foundation, Dr S. K Frimpong, a technical-economic advisor at the office of the Vice President, indicated that the He Empowering Lot More Shes (HELMS) initiative would empower more boys for the boys to empower more girls. He added that the HELMS initiative would enable men and guide them to stand in solidarity with women to create a bold, visible and united force for gender equality.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Mohammed Adjei Sowah, also mentioned that mentoring was key to success. He implored the founder of the initiative, Dr S.K. Frimpong, to target the project towards children from underprivileged communities, “so that we can also raise champions from communities like Zongo, Nima and so on.”

The Accra Metro Director of Education, Mr Stephen Abamfo, explained that the boy child could be nurtured to create leaders with integrity and hope through education, support, and community outreach. He, therefore, urged RoyalAid Foundation to reach out to school children through clubs as stated in the foundation’s implementation plan.

The Honorable Lariba Zuweira Abudu, Deputy Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, the Guest Speaker for the occasion, applauded Dr S.K Frimpong for leading such a worthy campaign. She, therefore, called on all and sundry to join forces to galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for gender equality

Speaking on behalf of Mentors for the project, Mr Peter Osei (CEO of Oyarifa Mall) indicated their unflinching support for the project. Media Personality, Abeiku Santana, who is also a mentor on the project, advised the youth to take advantage of the HELMS initiative and learn how to navigate their challenges in healthy ways
