President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has finalised the list of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to be nominated.
The Minister of Local Government Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Daniel Botwe, is expected to receive the list today, Thursday for an onward announcement.
These were disclosed by the Director of Communications at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin.
Mr. Arhin indicated that Ghanaians should expect the list to be announced by the Minister very soon,”.
Delay in nominating chief executives for the various MMDAs has been a matter of concern to many groups and individuals.
One of such individuals is the NDC MP for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor who has dragged the President to the Supreme Court challenging the directive to have previous chief executives of the various districts and municipalities continue acting.
He described the directive as unconstitutional.
