The chief of Asokwa, Nana Fe-Bamoah, has impressed upon members of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region to endorse the President’s Nominee for the Municipal Chief Executive of the area.
According to the chief, he has personally begun efforts from the traditional leadership’s side to get the Assembly Members to better appreciate why they should not delay the approval process within the stipulated 21 working days upon the Nominations.
He noted that the previous approach by the Assembly Members proved counterproductive. Nana Fe-Bamoah made the call in an interview with GBC’s Nicholas Osei-Wusu.
“I am very very happy to hear the renomination of our MCE, Honourable Akwanuasa Gyimah. He had only two years to serve before the elections but he did very well. We are all happy,” the Asokwahene explained.
He said, for now, the only road not tarred is the short stretch linking the main Asafo-Atonsu road to the Asokwa Old Town. All other roads within the Asokwa township have been tarred.
Touching on the Traditional Authority’s expectations of the Nominee if approved, Nana Fe-Bamoah mentioned the completion of the community-initiated market and removal of squatters from their illegal occupation of a riverbank as some of the priority issues for the Asokwa township.
Nana Fe-Bamoah said he has been engaging some of the relevant people for the approval process and assured that he and his elders would be present at the Approval event.
