Telecommunications giant, MTN has asked its customers to continue to repose faith in the brand. According to MTN, it’s seriously combating Mobile Money fraud and will not lose guard for the fraudsters.
The Senior Manager of Branch Network Services for the MTN Northern sector, Adwoa Afrakoma Baah Obeng was speaking at the World Consumers Rights Day program organized by the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications.
Adjoa Afrakoma Baah Obeng indicated that MTN has put frantic measures in place to improve the MoMo transactions.
She cautioned traders that the MoMo fraud is real and for that matter, they should be vigilant.
She disclosed that the telecommunications giant has partnered with the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications to introduce measures to combat MoMo forgery.
Adwoa Afrakomaa Baah Obeng issued the following advice to MTN MoMo users;
*MoMo users should not give their pin to anyone.
*Don’t give their phones to anyone including MoMo vendors to do transactions on their behalf.
*After cashing out count your money before leaving.
Sim Re-registration
The Senior Manager of Branch Network Services for the MTN Northern sector hinted that they have registered a little over 7.5 million of its subscribers.
She said the work is difficult but they have up to 31st March to end the registration.
Mrs. Baah Obeng said MTN has employed many Ghanaians and has deployed them across the country to aid in the exercise.
She stressed that the sim re-registration exercises are very important and it will help the country.
Mrs. Adwoa Afrakoma advised MTN subscribers to have their sim re-registered before the deadline.
