President Akufo-Addo has appointed the former MP for Ledzorkuku, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

“I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you to act as the Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority, pending the receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Service Commission,” the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare disclosed in a letter.

She also stated that the move by the President is in “Pursuant of Section 14(1) of the National Health Insurance Act, 2012 (Act 852) and takes effect on May 2.
