In a letter, an outspoken member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Japhet Festus Gbede, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Communication Officer of the party in the Akatsi South constituency when nominations are opened by the party.

Japhet Festus Gbede, an energetic, prolific, and enthusiastic young man who is well known to be connected to the heavyweights within his party, is poised to be an antidote to the weak communication machinery of the NDC in the Akatsi South Constituency.

The well-known blogger, web developer, and graphic designer stated that the NPP won the general elections of 2016 and 2020 on the basis of lies, that the NDC’s vote margin in the Akatsi South constituency is shrinking, and that the party needs technocrats, researchers, innovative ideas, and a united front to energize the party base.

His announcement to run for the position of Deputy Communications Director was met with raucous applause from the general public, many floating voters, NDC supporters, sympathizers, and well-known NDC big guns.

Prior to his declaration, Mr. Gbede said there was a need to re-position the NDC’s communication machinery in the Akatsi South in order to win back the youths, floating voters, and political power.

“I must join the Akatsi South Deputy Communication Race to reposition our constituency’s communication machinery in a way that restores hope and belief to our grassroots and Ghanaians at large.” He stated.

According to him, he had listened, prayed, consulted widely, assessed himself and believed that he had the gift and qualities to deliver the NDC from the doldrums.
