President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah has congratulated the senior national football team, the Black Stars for beating South Korea in their second match at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana exhibited an intriguing performance and won by 3-2 with great goals coming from defender, Mohammed Salisu and Offensive Midfielder, Mohammed Kudus who scored a brace.

In their first match, they lost 2-3 against Portugal, but the GOC President who is also a keen football enthusiast having served in the management of Accra Hearts of Oak said the boys have learned from their mistakes and are going to excel.

Mr. Nunoo Mensah thinks Ghana has a good squad of young professional footballers who want to make a name for themselves their families, friends fans, and their country.

He urged them to take every moment of the Tournament very seriously, as the World Cup is a serious business and an opportunity for football people to unite and show love.

He advised the thousands of football fans in Qatar to behave themselves, show discipline, and focus on the mission, which is the Trophy or placing a respectable position.

He commended the technical staff and administrators of the team “I think everyone has contributed well and positively, we look up to more victories,” he expressed.

Ghana faces Uruguay on Friday, December 2, 2022. At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the Uruguayans beat Ghana through penalties when everyone thought the Black Stars were going to be the first African nation to reach the Semi-Finals.
