PRESS RELEASE

03—11—2023

DEAR NPP DELEGATES,

LET HISTORIC NPP PRESIDENTIAL SHOWDOWN UNITE US STRONGER TO BREAK THE 8—NPP GERMANY

NPP Germany Branch takes this opportunity to extend its warmth and very best of comradeship and fraternisation as well as the highest transmutation of the NPP Elephant spirit of dominionship, ruling powers to the over 200,000 NPP Delegates across the country.

The 2023 NPP PRESIDENTIAL SHOWDOWN is a very crucial one indeed because the NPP is determined to break that status quo of Ghana’s 8 years political cycle eversince Ghana adopted the multiparty democracy in 1992.

Finally, the time is here for the kingmakers of the Kukruduu Family to choose our next leader. It is refreshing to note that after series and months of hectic campaigns by all aspirants, the dust has settle for that long awaited NPP Presidential Elections.

Dear NPP DELEGATES,

Let’s all be encouraged and take into account that in, as much as, we gather to vote for our preferred choice, our collective interest should be to play a crucial role in promoting national unity before and after the elections.

Since NPP Party unity is crucial for the 2024 Elections, we commend and support the move by the party leadership to restrain losers from resigning from the party.

In a move to avoid a repeat of members breaking away from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the presidential primaries, the party has asked all four aspirants to sign a stringent legal commitment.

This means that Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Addai Nimoh, and Dr. Afriyie Akoto cannot resign from the party if any of them should lose the elections.

This action stems from the precedent set by Alan Kyerematen, who resigned from the party and established a new movement after coming in third in the super delegates elections.

This is the time elections will allow NPP Delegates to choose their leaders, ensuring that diverse voices and perspectives are heard such that we can help bridge divisions, politics of hatred, distortions, and backbiting and pave the way for inclusivity.

Regular elections provide a peaceful mechanism for the transfer of power, reducing the likelihood of conflict and fostering a sense of unity and stability.

We also entreat the elections committee and the entire leadership of the party to ensure an overall, free and fair elections on Saturday November 4th 2023.

Transparent elections have remained the cornerstone of the NPP and we are determined to ensure no compromise or glitches of our national unity and cohesion.

We will continue to urge the good people of Ghana to vote NPP and break the 8 in order to retain the NPP so that the next NPP administration in the helm of governance will continue to give off its best.

NPP Germany wishes all delegates and aspirants a very peaceful incident-free and the most successful 2023 Presidential Showdown.
