The song is a reminder that Praying in Jesus’ name is less about including the phrase at the end of your prayer, and more about positioning your heart properly when you pray.

The key text is John 14:13-14: “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” This concept is repeated a few more times in John 15:16 and John 16:23-24.
