Ghana’s fast rising female table tennis star, Juanita Borteye has earned herself an incredible 11th position in the African Table Tennis ranking, after her stellar performances at the African Games, West African regional championship, ITTF Africa cup and Olympic Games qualification tournaments.

An elated Juanita looks forward to training overseas to improve upon current performance and ranking.

According to the International Table Tennis Federation’s ranking system, Juanita is ranked number 167 in the world and currently occupies the number 1 position in Ghana.

She is calling on the Ministry of Youth and Sports, philanthropists and NGOs to support her dream of becoming a professional player to prepare her to win a gold medal for Ghana.

With the Ghana Table Tennis Association giving opportunity and encouragement to the younger players with the future in mind, this achievement not only bolsters the confidence of Juanita, but also serves as motivation to other cadet and mini cadet players to continue training harder in anticipation of opportunities.

Juanita Borteye plays for Rising Star Foundation and she is trained by Enoch Nii Otu.

President of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Mawuko Afadzinu and his executives are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to support the development of table tennis at all levels.
