The New Patriotic Party is expected to approve the nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, as the Running Mate to the party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

His nomination has received mixed reactions from the party’s rank and file as well as various sympathizers of the party.

The latest to react to this new development is the Head Pastor of Amazing Grace Ministries, Bishop Daniel Akwasi Ansah.

The renowned Pastor has expressed the clergy’s disappointment over the decision to nominate Dr. Opoku Prempeh as Dr. Bawumia’s Running Mate.

According to the bishop, the two are not compatible in any way or form. Describing the Vice President as a humble and respectful person, he contends that, an “arrogant and disrespectful NAPO” is not the right person to partner the NPP Flagbearer for the 2024 General Elections.

“We are highly disappointed that anyone would even consider NAPO to be nominated as the party’s running mate. The two are not even compatible. Look at how humble and respectful the Vice President is, and just look at him being paired with an arrogant and disrespectful NAPO. It won’t work. Because NAPO’s arrogant reputation is known by all Ghanaians”, Bishop Ansah said.

The renowned bishop also shared how he developed so much confidence and admiration for Dr. Bawumia when the latter met the clergy at the Pentecost McKeown Temple in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

“Dr. Bawumia met us the members of the clergy at McKeown. Initially, our confidence in politicians had eroded but after our encounter with him, we rediscovered our confidence in a politician particularly him. We developed this admiration for him and his personality. We never expected this decision from him. In fact, the clergy is highly disappointed”, he added.
