We, the members of this group, are by this statement indicating our disapproval of the intended acceptance and approval of the nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for our dear party, New Patriotic Party in the upcoming elections.
We as grassroots members of the party have been working for the party at its base, and are therefore in constant contact with the people at the ground. As a result, we reflect the concerns and voices of these concerned patriots and sympathizers of the party.
The patriots and sympathizers of our party have expressed their deepest disappointment and outright disapproval over the selection of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate of the party, due to his bad and poor human relations, and attitudinal issues such as his arrogance and rude behaviour towards others.
We are therefore calling on NEC and the National Council to reject his nomination. While at it, we are calling all concerned members of the party’s grassroots to besiege the premises of the Alisa Hotel, which happens to be the venue of the meetings to demonstrate to the leadership of the party our displeasure over that unpopular nomination.
