Mrs. Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Senior Manager for Corporate Communications at MTN Ghana has advised Ghanaian youth to take training in digitalisation very seriously and not wait to be left in the dark.

In an exclusive interview with Omashi TV, she noted that the world is drifting to digital and the younger generation has a big role to play else they would be left jobless and frustrated.

She expressed that the world is changing and it is up to the youth to hold on and maintain or sustain important things like the environment.

Supporting MTN to propagate the benefits in sustainability, she pointed that young people who are 18 or 20 years old now have about 70 years more to live but if they watch the earth to deteriorate, what would their future look like.

She stressed that it is everyone’s business to save the environment, noting that MTN Ghana is very responsible socially and also supports government and other agencies to ensure a safer, peaceful and brighter world to live in.

“It is time to take advantage of tools like AI and other technologies to make the world a better place” she stressed.

MTN Ghana celebrated Sustainability Week and the company organised a meeting with other stakeholders to share ideas at their head office at Ridge in Accra.

The resource people were KPMG’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance Manager, Bernard Owusu Ansah, Dr. Felix Addo-Yobo, Deputy Director of the SDGs Advisory Unit at the Office of the President and United Nations Global Compact Ghana’s Mina Pokuaa Agyemang.

Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, Madam Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, contributing to MTN’s Bright Conversation on the theme Compliance to Opportunity: Embedding Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) in Business highlighted MTN’s long-term commitment to sustainable practices, urging businesses and individuals alike to take responsibility for shaping a greener, more equitable future.

She explained how MTN’s ESG strategy integrates sustainability into the company’s core values, saying that for MTN, ESG is more than a corporate requirement – it’s a mission to create value for communities, the environment, and the broader economy.

“Our strategy places ESG at the heart of everything we do because we believe in shared value,” Wiafe stated. “Sustainability Week is a reminder that responsible practices are essential, not optional,” she said.
