PRESENTED TO: THE HON. INTERIOR MINISTER, REPUBLIC COTE D’IVORE
THE HON. INTERIOR MINISTER, REPUBLIC OF BURKINA FASO
THE HON. INTERIOR MINISTER, REPUBLIC TOGO
PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS IN GHANA.
EMERGENCY LETTER
IMPOUND ALL GOVERNMENT VEHICLES
The New Ghana, as a key civil society stakeholder in Ghana, is directing that all
government vehicles be grounded.
We are calling on neighboring countries, as a matter of urgency to seize and take legal custody of any government property or vehicle crossing Ghana’s borders.
We are at the key moment for change of power in the horizon. It’s not uncommon for public officials to take advantage of the situation to steal state properties, particularly vehicles, and take them across the borders into neighboring countries.
Whilst urging the security organizations in the countries bordering Ghana to help stop such transborder hiding of stolen property, we also urge their Ghanaian counterparts and all citizens to remain vigilant.
The New Ghana would equally mount intense surveillance internally and at the borders.
Therefore, we shall be compelled to summon your country to Ecowas court for aiding and abeiting crime should you fail to swiftly stop the crossing.
“Ecowas charter provides that “States must make it a criminal offense to transfer assets that are the proceeds of crime, or to conceal the true nature of those assets”.
KEEP STATE PROPERTIES AT STANDSTILL
The New Ghana is currently keeping data of all public properties at the various state institutions and any attempt to divert property would land the said officials
in serious consequences.
Your Sincerely,
Yahaya Alhassan
