FLSmith, a renowned global mining solutions provider, has officially launched an advanced service centre in Ghana, poised to transform the country’s mining sector and propel regional growth.
The cutting-edge facility, inaugurated on Tuesday, 11 March 2025, in Accra is designed to deliver comprehensive training, cutting-edge technologies, and an extensive range of services tailored to optimize mining operations.
According to FLSmith Group CEO Mikko Keto, Ghana’s robust mining expertise and stable business environment made it an attractive location for the company’s expansion.
“We’re shifting our focus from solely being present in South Africa to establishing a stronger presence in Ghana, enabling us to better support our customers,” Keto explained.
The service centre is strategically positioned to serve as a key distribution hub for equipment and spare parts, fostering business growth and revenue generation throughout the West African region.
Danish Ambassador to Ghana Tom Nørring lauded the initiative, highlighting its potential to drive economic growth, create jobs, and fortify the private sector.
“FLSmith’s investment in Ghana exemplifies balanced trade and investment, promoting collaboration, local job creation, upskilling the workforce, and strengthening Ghana’s private sector,” Nørring stated.
Sulemanu Koney, CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, commended the project, noting its alignment with the chamber’s vision of establishing Ghana as a hub for mine support services.
“This investment by FLSmith supports our goal of making Ghana a central hub for mining services, presenting a valuable opportunity to increase value retention within the country,” Koney said.
