In a heartfelt gesture of generosity and compassion, social media TV channel Ohim TV, along with its NGO charity wing, Ohim Foundation, marked the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations by donating essential items to orphans at the Adeiso-Bawjiase-based Freedom House Foundation in the Eastern Region.
The donation, which took place on Saturday, included bags of rice, cooking oil, washing powder, biscuits, sanitary pads, second-hand clothing, shoes, and other necessities.
These contributions aimed to support the welfare of the orphaned children and enhance their quality of life.
This initiative highlights Ohim TV and Ohim Foundation’s commitment to social responsibility and their dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable children, ensuring that they receive the care and support they deserve.
Freedom House Foundation on the other hand, is dedicated to providing care, support, and educational opportunities to orphans and vulnerable children, helping them realize their potential.
Additionally, the foundation equips widows in deprived communities with vocational skills to improve their livelihoods.
The foundation also operates a basic school at its premises and a soccer academy known as Freedom Stars.
Speaking at the donation event, the CEO of Ohim TV and Founder of Ohim Foundation, Mr. Daniel Ibrahim Benin, emphasized the importance of giving during the holy month of Ramadan.
He acknowledged the support of his Chinese partners, including Mr. Tang Hong of Tang Palace, the CAITEC Group, China Fujian Fishing Company, and Zonda Group, in making the donation possible.
Accompanied by his wife and the Ohim Foundation team, Mr. Benin reaffirmed his commitment to making such charitable acts a regular gesture.
“The season of Ramadan is a special time to give back to the less privileged. This is just the beginning. Ohim TV and Ohim Foundation will continue to extend our support to Freedom House Foundation,” he stated.
He also encouraged the leadership of Freedom House Foundation to nurture the children with love and care, urging the orphans to remain disciplined, respectful, and dedicated to their studies.
The team at Freedom House Foundation made a special appeal for educational books and stationery, as well as teaching and learning tools and facilities.
Mr. Benin on this special request assured the management of Freedom House Foundation to provide them with most of the educational materials from time to time.
