National Lightweight Champion, Africanus Kotei Neequaye of Jamestown Boxing Club and Light heavyweight contender, Abubakar Kamoko aka Ambitious Tilapia of the Bronx Boxing Club stole the show with their smart suits at the presentation of scholarships to young boxers by matchmaker Mubarak Yusif Nanor on his birthday.
Neequaye aka ‘The African Star’ who combines sports and education said the suit brand is Louis Vuitton and more plus others will be seen. “Fashion is life” the old student of Prince De Henry Educational Complex and Labone SHS said.
The venue was the Prince De Henry Educational Complex last Monday where other young boxers also attended.
The cream de la creme of invited guests to grace the event include Sharaf Mahama CEO of Legacy Rise Sports Promotions, Hon. Alfred Kotey Ashie MP for Odododiodoo Constituency and Niii Martey Djata Obrempong, Teshie Obediben and Acting Atofotse.
Hon. Emmanuel Okai Laryea of Shiatse Management and Promotions was also present as well as Coach Carl Lokko of the Bronx Gym.
Sharaf, who is son of President John Dramani Mahama said he feels good interacting with the ordinary people and advised them to take education seriously.
He said impacting the lives of the athletes who display at the grand boxing shows is important as there is life after boxing and getting an early support can cushion someone to greatness.
Mubarak Yusif Nanor, an international matchmaker decided to celebrate his birthday by presenting 10 kids with educational scholarships at the Prince De Henry Educational Complex at Lartebiokorshie in Accra.
