Accra Great Olympics

Ghana Premier League side, Great Olympics have announced a five million Ghana cedis (5,000,000) sponsorship deal with McDan Group of Companies who have thus become the club’s new Headline Sponsor for the next three seasons.

The deal was announced at a well-patronized event at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Conference Room in Accra, with Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, and Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku in attendance with many former Black Stars players led by Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston, Augustine Arhinful, Awuley Quaye Snr, Emmanuel Armah ‘Senegal’ Felix Aboagye all present.

The contract is worth a total of $270,000 per year for three years, therefore a total of  $810,000 for the entire duration of the contract.

The club will receive $100,000 of the money in cash, per season with the rest tied to performance-related clauses.

Olympics will be rewarded with $100,000 in addition if they win the league, $50,000 if they win the FA Cup and $20,000 if they finish in the Top 4 of the Ghana Premier League.

Another clause in the contract stipulates McDan Group investing a further $10 million into constructing a 30,000 seater stadium for Accra Great Olympics if they are successful in competing in Africa and winning the CAF Champions League.

The McDan Group of Companies is a Ghanaian transportation and logistics company with operations in freight forwarding and a logistics provider for land transports, sea freight, air freight, and contract logistics. The headquarters of the company is in Accra, Ghana.

It has a presence in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Equatorial Guinea.
