Animation in Africa is picking up in this decade, thanks to strides by production companies like Parables Studios who produced Ghana’s first animated feature film.
For the past 7 years, Parables has brought Ananse and its other animated characters to live through its Time With Ananse live shows.
Appreciation for the concept has been evident through massive patronage and collaborations from brands like Junior Graphic – Ghana’s foremost weekly newspaper for young people.
This year’s event according to Cecil Jones Abban – Head of Parables Studios, will mix different creative art styles such as animation, puppetry, and staged drama to uniquely introduce folklore to younger audiences and create an enjoyable family experience.
Mr. Abban stated that Ananse and friends will be returning to the Silverbird Cinema – Accra Mall on 28th December 2021 to present “The Wisdom App” in two different shows slated for 2pm and 4pm.
“With each two-hour show, we hope to defend our track record of presenting a live show that parents will enjoy and children will learn from”, said Mr. Cecil Jones Abban.
