The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has lifted the ban on the operations of beaches in the region.

The Council however, noted that the move is with some conditions such as entry to the beaches shall be allowed for only persons who show proof of vaccination.

Beach operators shall ensure strict adherence to all COVID-19 safety protocols and as much as possible, operators shall ensure that entry points are separated from exit points to avoid overcrowding.

The Ghana Health Service shall mount vaccination points at all beach facilities to provide vaccination for persons who are not vaccinated before entry.

“Operators of beaches are to ensure that they collaborate with the Ghana Health Service, the Security, and Intelligence Agencies led by the Ghana Police Service and their respective Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to ensure strict adherence and enforcement of this directive,” the Regional Minister, Henry Quartey concluded in the statement.
