The Teranga Lions are African champions for the first time in their history after seeing off Egypt in an intriguing final.
The winning kick came from the Liverpool playmaker Sadio Mane.
Senegal lifted the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations title after beating Egypt 4-2 on penalties in Sunday’s final at the Olembe Stadium.
Senegal looked the better side as they dominated the game and could have easily had a goal but for the instinctive saves of the Egyptian Goalkeeper Gabaski who was charged on the night of the epic finals.
Runner up Egypt has won the AFCON for a record of 7 times and was seeking to lift the trophy for the 8th time.
Egypt is the only country in Africa that has dominated African football on that level.
