Some Ghanaians are remembering the late dancehall and Afrobeat Artiste Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known by the stage name Ebony Reigns as 8th February marked the 4th year after her death.
Ebony Reigns who was born on February 16, 1997, passed on in a gory accident on the 8th of February, 2018 at the Bechem Government Hospital.
Ebony went to Sunyani alongside her best friend Franky Kuri and a military officer Astu Vondee where they all met their untimely death after their jeep collided with a truck. The death of the “Kupe ” singer hit the whole country as many expressed their disbelief about the death of Ebony Reigns.
According to the Father of Late Ebony, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, he has been communicating with the singer.
In an interview in Accra, Mr Kwarteng said his daughter has complained to him bitterly about certain things in his dream. Asked how he communicates with her, he said, “I am a Spiritualist, I have said it and I will repeat it here, I am.
As we mark the 4th year of her passing some Ghanaians have taken to social media to express how they have missed the singer.
Some wrote “I will forever miss you Nana Hemaa”. Rest In Peace. “Rip Ebony Reigns the 90’s baddest” “I have still not gotten over her death mpo. And it has been four years already? Rest easy Obaaa and the others with her should rest easy too.
Remembering EBONY Reigns 4 years on
While some Ghanaians who spoke to GBC News described how courageous she was as they remember her tragic death, others could not even remember today as the 4th year since her passing.
It may seem that the “Sponsor” hit maker is being forgotten so soon, but we believe that her back-to-back songs will still remain on the minds of Ghanaians. May the soul of Ebony Reigns and all the departed souls rest in peace.
