The New Patriotic Party (NPP) branch in Germany has heaped praises on the ruling government for putting an end to the guarantor system in the student loan application.
Last month, the Chief Executive Officer of the Student Loan Trust Fund, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah announced to the delight of the Ghanaian public that students who apply for loans will no longer be required to present a guarantor.
“Now the government has brought something new and parliament has passed the bill into law. Now anyone coming for the loan doesn’t need a guarantor.
“You only need to be a Ghanaian, have your Ghana card, and be a Ghanaian in an accredited public or private tertiary institution to access the loan,” he shared.
This, the NPP Germany has issued a press release, indicating that the NPP government must be commended for seeing this through.
“The Akufo-Addo government has brought this measure as part of his grand course of making education as accessible as possible in all tiers. This is an appropriate way of alienating the mundane of students failing to continue their tertiary education because of lack of funds as well as killing the stress associated with applying for these funds.
“Your Ghana card which contains all your personal details and traceable documentations shall be enough to fetch you all the money you need to complete your education and pay later at your convenience. This is a good approach towards our educational system and it must be applauded,” parts of a press release from NPP Germany signed by Communications Director Nana Osei Boateng have said.

THE END OF THE STUDENT LOAN GUARANTOR’S ERA
From now on, the student loan trust fund of Ghana shall not use the guarantor’s approach before granting loans to Ghanaian students anymore. All you need to have is your Ghana card to establish the validity of your citizenship.
For this reason, there is an anticipated increase in the number of persons that will be able to access the loan facility granted by the fund. Ghanaian students will have the ease of accessing money to cover tuition, books, and other educational expenses on a semester-by-semester basis.
The Akufo-Addo government has brought this measure as part of his grand course of making education as accessible as possible in all tiers. God bless His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
God bless the New Patriotic Party.
God bless Ghana.

NPP Germany Branch Communications Director.
