The African Integrity Magazine conferred the AFRICAN LEADER OF INTEGRITY MERIT AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE LEADERSHIP IN TAXATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA on Dr Adeshile Adedeji Richard.

This international award conferment happened in Accra, Ghana during the Agency’s 18th African Leadership Development Conference Awards Conferment held on the 11th of February 2023 themed “Africa’s Population Explosion: A threat to Continental Food Security & Sustainable Development.”

Adeshile Adedeji in his presentation mentioned that if the financial instrument is fully harnessed, it can unlock over US$2.5 trillion in trade finance per year for developing countries.

Furthermore, he stated that as young African leaders, the expectation is to work in unity to fight against hunger and provide decent job opportunities to cater for the teeming population.

This will help achieve SDG 2 on Zero Hunger and SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth by the year 2030 and beyond.

No doubt, it is imperative to acknowledge the huge challenges ahead of us considering the explosion in pollution with a consequential threat to food security if not properly managed.

It is expected that African Leaders are to be more productive in the utilization of our abundant economic resources.

He further called for a renewed partnership for development in trade, finance, and investment.
