An Accra Human Rights Court presided over by Justice Nicholas Abodakpi has granted an application by Charles Bissue’s lawyers and issued an interim injunction.
This order restrains the OSP and its agents from executing the arrest warrant they claim to have obtained.
Additionally, the Court has prohibited the Special Prosecutor from seeking further arrest warrants and publishing notices declaring the Applicant, Charles Bissue as wanted until the substantive matter is resolved.
The duration of the injunction is set for ten days and the case has been adjourned to June 22, 2023.
On June 13, 2023, the OSP declared Charles Bissue, former Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining as wanted.
