€11.5 MILLION ADAKLU WATER PROJECTS: AKUFO-ADDO REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TOWARDS GHANA’S SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The Germany Branch of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is highly commending and singing the praises of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his continous demonstration and commitment towards achieving Ghana’s Sustainable Development Goals.
On Monday, 3rd July 2023, the President commissioned Phase Three of the Five Districts Water Supply Project at Adaklu in the Volta Region, a project for which he cut the sod in September 2020.
The project, financed by a concessionary facility from Raiffeisen Bank International AG of Austria, at a cost of €11.5 million, will benefit some 89,150 people in 95 communities in Central Tongu, Adaklu and Agotime-Ziope.
According to President Akufo-Addo, who addressed a gathering at Adaklu, some of the key components of the project are the construction of three (3) concrete tanks at Adaklu Kpeleho, Adaklu Sofa and Adaklu Kpatove, to help keep the water safe from any bacteria; the completion of a water booster station at Adaklu Kpeleho to transport water to Adaklu and Agotime-Ziope communities and the laying of one hundred and seventy-five (175) kilometres of water pipelines.
With designs for Phase IV of the Project are ongoing, the President told the gathering that the focus of Government is to ensure that all Regions across the country are provided with adequate, safe, affordable and reliable water services.
He cited the commissioning, in September 2020, of completed projects under the Water Supply Improvement Project of the Ghana-Spain Debt Swap Development, implemented by the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), at a total cost of US$3.78 million, for a beneficiary population of 75,000.
It is worthwhile to note that the essence of development projects lies in promoting human dignity, social justice, and sustainable growth, with a focus on addressing the specific needs and aspirations of the communities they serve.
Nana Akufo-Addo, whom the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has continuously criticised for doing nothing since his assumption of office in 2017, are now key witnesses to the massive water development projects earmarked for a region touted and believed to be the opposition stronghold, the Volta Region.
It is therefore the primary goal of the NPP under H.E. Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia to enhance the overall quality of life for individuals and all Ghanaians.
These effective development projects would empower marginalized and vulnerable groups, including women, minorities, and people with disabilities.
As a result, these projects by the NPP, would translate into promoting, inclusivity and ensure that the benefits of development are distributed equitably across the country.
The NPP, from the days it won power had ensured addressing extreme poverty, providing access to basic services (education, healthcare, clean water, sanitation), and creating opportunities for economic growth and sustainable livelihoods.
On the back of this clean water development projects, the NPP again is aiming to achieve progress while ensuring the long-term well-being of both current and future generations.
This largely involves balancing economic, social, and environmental factors to prevent the depletion of resources and the degradation of ecosystems.
Akufo-Addo and NPP remains focused and resolute towards deliverable development in the best interest of Ghanaians.
It is in this light that we are ensuring that sustainable development reaches the doorstep of all Ghanaians.
Even in the face of the glaring impetuous propaganda at all levels being fuelled and inflamed by the NDC and its impish buffoons, we are sending a clear signal that the NPP remains unperturbed and unfazed to do more for the greater interest of Ghanaians.
Let The Truth Confound The Wise……
Long Live Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo!!
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana!!!
Long Live the Elephant Party!!!!
Kukruduuuu Eeeessshiii!!!!
Signed:
Nana Osei Boateng
